UL luminaire certification test requirements The UL certification standard for lamps is the standard proposed by the United States UL International Product Safety Testing and Certification Body. The UL certification standard for lamps is also a product safety standard in the United States. At present, there are more and more domestic lamps and lanterns export products. Knowing the UL certification standards for lamps and lanterns is very important. Domestic manufacturers will not be in a hurry when they apply for UL certification. A list of UL/CSA certification tests for energy-saving lamps 1. Input parameter measurement Input Test Note: The working position of the energy-saving lamp is placed with the lamp head facing up. The sample of the energy-saving lamp tested must be ignited for 100 hours at a rated voltage of 120V before it can be detected and activated. Input parameters were then tested on these samples, including current, power, and power factors. The result is that the current cannot be greater than 110% of the rated current, and the power cannot exceed 110% of the rated power. Based on these, you can pre-test it yourself. 2. Sample structure restrictions Construction Limited Note: The design of energy-saving lamps must meet the parameter requirements of the following table. Lamp head specification E39 / maximum weight does not exceed 2.7kg / maximum size does not exceed 400mm / maximum installation bending moment 2.05Nm Note: The maximum installation bending moment refers to the maximum torque that the lamp head bears after installation of the energy-saving lamp. Generally speaking, when the energy-saving lamp is installed horizontally, the distance from the center of the lamp cap to the point where the center of gravity of the energy-saving lamp is located is multiplied by the weight of the lamp itself. 3. Safety test for threaded lamp holders Lamp Base Safety Note: In accordance with the provisions of the UL496/CSA C22.2 No. 84-95 standard clause, the threaded head of the energy-saving lamp must be able to withstand an axial tension of 20 bls (89 N) for 1 minute and withstand a 20 bls-in (2.26 Nm) head rotation. Torque test, the lamp cap cannot be rotated, displaced, pulled off, chipped, etc. 4. Leakage current test, no more than 0.5mA Leakage Current Note: Generally, the leakage current of the lamp with fluorescent lamp is larger than that of the lamp with incandescent lamp. The leakage current of the self-ballast lamp is 0.5mA. This is a comprehensive indicator that may be related to the spatial distribution of the current-carrying components of the product itself, the size of the outer casing gap, and so on. 5. Normal/Abnormal Operating Temperature Test Normal/Abnormal Temp Note: Two tests are included here: normal operation and abnormal operation (deactivation of lamp components). The energy-saving lamp was mounted with the lamp head facing up in a cylindrical mounting box having a diameter of 152 mm and a depth of 216 mm with the opening of the cylinder facing downward. The sample is first measured for normal working temperature, and the temperature of each measured point is stable (generally at least 3 hours), and then turned to abnormal working state until the end. The abnormal working state refers to the deactivation operation state of the fluorescent tube portion, specifically, the one end (a pair of wires) on the original energy-saving lamp is cut off to be connected to the other pair (a pair of input wires), so that two Only one end of the lamp is connected to the circuit of the energy saving lamp. The energy-saving lamp is preferably designed to contain a fuse to prevent the abnormal working state from continuing for a long time, thereby causing the temperature of each temperature to be measured to exceed the limit. 6. Insulation withstand test Insulation strength Note: The key point is that the outer casing of the lamp itself has a small gap, the thickness of the plastic material reaches a certain thickness, and the assembly mating surface has a certain misalignment, so that it can withstand the high pressure of 2500V applied to the live parts and the outer casing plastic. It should be ensured that these mating surfaces and plastic materials will not melt and deform during normal operation, so that the insulation properties of the lamps themselves. 7. Fault condition test of components Note: Mainly assess the failure of the components in the lamp under the condition of simulating short open circuit, whether the lamp has melted the material, exposed to the outside, and generates flames and other dangers. In addition, it can be checked whether the fuse in the line can be operated normally and in time. Components to be tested include capacitors, diodes, coils, and the like. 8. Drop test Drop Test Note: The sample fell from the 0.91m height to the board. After the test, the shell could not be cracked and still withstand the 2500V high voltage insulation withstand voltage test. 9. Molding stress test Mode strain Note: The luminaire samples were placed in an oven for 7 hours to heat. The oven temperature is set to 70 degrees Celsius or the maximum temperature of the outer casing plastic measured in the temperature test refers to the addition of 10 degrees Celsius. According to the measured case temperature of the casing obtained in the normal temperature test, the sample cannot melt and rupture after the test. 10. Shell mechanical strength Enclosure Strength Note: The shell impact test is required, that is, a shock ball with a weight of 0.5 kg is freely dropped from the air to the outer casing of the impact device. The energy of the impact can correspond to the following table, and the outer casing should not be broken after the test. 11. Circuit board voltage test PCB DC Insulation Strength Note: The energy-saving lamp contains a ballast circuit. The working voltage of each point in the circuit is not consistent. There may be a large voltage difference at some points, and because the distance between the points on the circuit board is small, the element is out. In addition to device failure testing, this test is required in consideration of insulation safety between points on the board.
