Saudi SASO Certification Abbreviation for SASaudi Arabian Standards Organization, the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization. SASO is responsible for the development of national standards for all daily necessities and products. The standards also cover measurement systems, marking and so on. In fact, many of the SASO standards are based on the safety standards of international organizations such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Lighting product certification scope Including: Ordinary household or similar-purpose, directional and non-directional light bulbs used in Saudi Arabia, mainly including ordinary incandescent bulbs for AC or DC power supply, self-ballasted fluorescent lamps (energy-saving lamps), self-ballasted LED bulbs, and halogen bulbs. Excludes: lamps, luminaire controllers, and bulbs for non-ordinary lighting (such as signal lights, infrared heating lamps, lamps in other household appliances, and other special-purpose bulbs for professional use). For ordinary household or similar use bulbs, the standard is mainly evaluated: Lamp energy efficiency rating: mainly divided into 7 levels of A, B, C, D, E, F and G. Lamp performance requirements: such as life, lumen maintenance, switching cycle, start-up time, color rendering index and power factor requirements. The following information must be displayed on the lamp: trademark, input voltage, rated power, country of origin. The above information must be clearly marked in English and/or Arabic on the label, overpack, brochure and website. Evaluation requirements for hazardous substances contained in light bulbs: Lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE), and mercury. Energy efficiency label requirements for the bulb: The label must be on the package and be clearly visible to the consumer.
