About

Electric vehicles are getting better and better. They are more powerful, efficient and reliable than before. The BLDC motor for vehicle is a big part of this change. If you are building a scooter, e-rickshaw e-bike or commercial electric vehicle you need to know how a BLDC motor works. This will help you make decisions when you are buying or designing one.

What is a BLDC motor?

A BLDC motor is a kind of electric motor that does not use brushes. It uses a controller to switch the current between the stator windings. This creates a rotating field that makes the rotor turn. The motor has three parts:

* The stator is the part with the copper windings that create the field.

* The rotor is the part with the magnets that attach to the rotating shaft.

* The electronic controller is the part that controls the current to the stator.

Because there are no brushes BLDC motors need maintenance and are more reliable than regular motors.

How does a BLDC motor work?

It is actually pretty simple.

1. The battery sends power to the motor controller.

2. The controller sends power to the stator windings in a sequence.

3. This creates a rotating field.

4. The permanent magnets in the rotor follow this field.

5. The rotor keeps turning making the vehicle move.
