Every year, around Christmas time, this old black and white movie is played on TV – It’s a Wonderful Life! And yes, they are talking about THIS life, the life on earth, the life that we lead now and that is important.
By now, everyone knows the story – George Bailey, overcome by the difficulties of life, decided to end his life and an angel appears and shows him the error of his ways. He shows what would have happened if he had never been born.
So many millions of people have watched this movie and enjoyed it and continue to enjoy it every year.
But how many realize that this movie promotes Reincarnation?
What if a few changes were made showing what would have happened if George had taken his life? The unfortunate would be different people – first, George’s family. Without their breadwinner the family would become homeless, his children’s future destroyed – taking to the streets, begging in the cold! So many women have turned to prostitution to make ends meet; to put food on the table for their families, would his wife suffer the same fate? Bedford Falls would still become Pottersville, a sleazy little town run by evil, callous people! So many lives affected in a bad way, so many lives destroyed! But it seems Atheists brains go haywire when they read or hear the word God! Quick to jump and mock the low-hanging fruit without even reading or understanding what is being said. For example, I made a recent post as to how black people, rightfully, speak out against racism and discrimination based on skin color. But then embrace religions that preach discrimination and hate based on belief, religion! And all it took was the use of God and the promise of an everlasting “life” of ease & comfort for them to sell their Souls, ethics, morals!
The same way the use of the word God triggers blind belief in theists, it seems to trigger the opposite in Atheists. I do not mock God – I just question the very idea of Heaven – why any being would be keeping billions in comfort – and most atheist replies to my posts follow the same pattern – mocking God, calling him the sky daddy. I make repeated efforts to reach these people – first thing I say – Theists do NOT care for God! And I repeat it – Theists do NOT care for God! What they are really after is Heaven – the “life” of comfort. Watch now: https://youtu.be/vipfcZ_WI28?si=ocR9bhVvHfGOYruS
How about Philosophers who debate questions on the purpose and meaning of life here on earth but never once question that purpose and meaning of billions of people idling for eternity?
Repeatedly the question is asked – “Will we meet all our DEAD loved ones in Heaven again?”
Again, a question asked repeatedly and even as the question is asked, we ALL know what the answer is going to be.
But how about “How can I be happy in Heaven while my family is struggling? I was the breadwinner in my family, my wife is struggling to put food on the table, my family is homeless, my children are going hungry, might end up begging in the streets!” or “My country is at war, millions are suffering, mothers, wives, sisters, daughters are at risk of rape, torture!”
NOT ONCE! NOT ONE “JOURNALIST” EVER ASKS! They know that such questions are not to the religions liking and so they make sure not to ask – keep asking cheap questions that the religious person is happy to answer & the “Journalist” keeps drooling.
It is like interviewing Madoff and limiting the questions to “How much interest will I get? 18%? 20% ooh 30%? Per month! ooh”
“How quickly can I become a millionaire? Buy that fancy car? Quit my job, buy that big mansion, and live the good life? Tell me, tell me.”
If you saw something like that, would you not be disgusted?
And yet even the best of minds see such “interviews” of religious people and do not even blink! Watch now: https://youtu.be/21e7bZvgf6E
In Hinduism there is a word that is constantly used Dharma – or one’s duty (loosely translated). Dharma is different for each person; your Dharma might be different from mine. Let us take an example – If you are a householder, and while you were sleeping in your home with your family, you hear a break-in. You pick up your gun, turn the lights on, and confront the thief. You fire a shot in the air and the thief runs away, maybe with some valuables! Do you shoot him in the back? You are an ordinary citizen, your Dharma might implore you to hold back, the threat is gone, your family is safe, not much is lost, nothing more needs to be done. It’s a good question, don’t you think? Those who are interested in Philosophy find Philosophers musing about the meaning and purpose of life, REAL LIFE! What are we doing here? Why are we here? What does it all mean? And there are few answers.
One of the best answers I liked was from Philosopher Joseph Campbell who opined that WE give our lives meaning and purpose, it does not come from outside, but from within! That made sense to me. I am sure other philosophers who grapple with this question may have other opinions and answers.
But amazingly, I find that NONE of these philosophers’ question Heaven – so far no one mentions any WORK being done in Heaven, no one even asks! The problem is obvious – we are talking about the almighty God! The being who made this HUGE Universe, a huge universe so big that it makes our earth smaller than an Atom! A being with such capabilities would have no use for us, nor need any work to be done.
And so, we end up with billions of people in an idle, lazy, useless, pointless existence for eternity! Yes Existence, not this “eternal life!” – I ask, how is this life? Sitting around chatting is life? Shamelessly sponging off God is life?
Amazingly, none of the followers ask such questions or they are told not to ask such questions or else incur the wrath of their God! And amazingly again, even the best of minds refuse to see that a religion is just using threats, hiding behind God, to avoid answering the question. But we know that all kinds of horrors can be and have been justified by claiming to speak for God.
What IS frightening is that the media does not ask such questions either, not even Atheists! Atheists seem lost – brainwashed by the idea of attacking and mocking God and not much else! God is the low-hanging fruit, the easy target and that is whom they attack.
What is sad is they fail to realize that Heaven – a life of ease & comfort, pleasures of the flesh for eternity – is what is holding up the idea of God & Religion. Without the prospect of a life of ease & comfort for eternity, most religions will die out.
But let’s get back to Philosophers. Why aren’t they asking about “life” in Heaven? What does one DO in Heaven? How do we spend our time? Is it productive? eH
Do we have dreams and aspirations in Heaven? Again, there are few answers! Again, here in the REAL WORLD, what we dream about, aspire for does not just fall on top of our heads – whether we want to be a Astronaut, physician, movie star and so many more, they ALL take lots of hard work, sacrifice, lots and lots of pain & suffering, dealing with setbacks etc.
Does Heaven have Astronauts? What would physicians do? Are there sick people in Heaven? Are there movies in Heaven? Movie stars? What would movies be about? REAL LIFE on earth? Lol
No, this is an abracadabra world, a world of magic, miracle. Where the magic being has created a lie of ease & comfort. That is what most theists want – no one ever talked of dreams, aspirations in Heaven. Their goal is a “life” of pleasure, a KEPT “life,” an idle, lazy, useless, pointless existence self-gratifying, self-pleasuring themselves!
In such a world, asking for purpose, meaning is foolish, it does not apply. It is like asking a drug-addict only interested in getting his next fix, next high, the meaning & purpose of life – well, his is pretty clear and sadly, it seems to be the same for BILLIONS of theists – self-gratification, self-pleasure! Born into rich, successful families, they are set for life – they know that they will never have to work a day in their lives. Why get an education? We are not going to work anyway! Many do not even finish school! If they were born in business families, then surely, they would need an education to take over their parents’ business, but as an actor’s daughter she had nothing to aspire for. I think she tried out for a few movie parts, was not very successful at it. Watch now: https://youtu.be/1q8XJ6GzlnE
